Blog Category: No Category Blog Tags: Today I have watched one of the Star Trek – The Next Generation series. I was stunned by Data. The most important is that I liked this android. He yearns to learn as much as possible about the irrational. And he is just a machine. Machine. I thought of this when I had been watching the episode. Machines do not think of considerations and they do not fill the blanket spaces in the puzzle with their own fantasy and hints, they rely upon the facts only. But I also considered the idea that you can easily twist the robot around your finger – the only thing you need to do if to give it the number of data and facts which it would analyze and give the necessary conclusion. That is silly, isn’t that? It is silly to trust your life and future to the …. scheme…I do not know how else can I put it… to the processor manipulations of the logic machine. For operating the facts not relying upon the intuition, not relying upon what on of the characters named guts – you can easily lead everyone into the dead-end. Because without those feelings on the level of your sitting point, spine, figurately speaking, you cannot understand most of things. But where is the line between the rational and irrational? I keep on asking that question and I am sure that there is a certain reason for that, it has lots. For if you are carried away with one or the other side of the question: meant whether you rely upon only facts or only your intuition, which (because of its being too close to the sitting point …. or I mean the sitting point feels all the great changes in the emotional atmosphere of the human surrounding)… well, how one can find the rational equity between the spine that response to fear, foreseeing, the inevitable approach of the kick into the sitting point … and cold emotionless, and machinelike analysis of only pure facts, which as was explained by Geordi La Forge, often is not enough.
